Khaeng Krung National Park

Oscurato dal vicino e meglio servito [poi=90151]Khao Sok[/poi], questo parco nazionale che confina a nord con il cugino più famoso, è spesso trascurato dal turismo nazionale ed internazionale. Raggiungibile anch'esso dalla strada 401, non presenta grandi infrastrutture per l'accoglienza ma se avete una tenda a disposizione e vi piace stare lontano dal trambusto di tour organizzati e pacchetti all-inclusive, questa potrebbe essere la soluzione ideale per voi. Il parco è costituito in gran parte da colline carsiche ricoperte dalla giungla tropicale ed è in gran parte inesplorato (e inesplorabile). L'area intorno al centro visite, oltre a ospitare campeggio e bungalows, è il punto di partenza di un treking che permette di esplorare l'ambiente del parco. Per arrivare fino a qui dovrete però disporre di un mezzo proprio o chiedere all'autista del bus che fa spola tra [poi=90201]Takua pa[/poi] e [poi=92691]Surat Thani[/poi] di farvi scendere al centro visite. Nel parco, oltre a prosperare centinaia di specie animali, crescono le piante di Rafflesia che hanno una fioritura straordiaria: il loro fiore di 1m di diametro è il più grande al mondo!

Overshadowed by the neighbor and best served Khao Sok, this national park which is bordered to the north by the more famous cousin, is often overlooked by the national and international tourism. You can reach it from the road 401, no major infrastructure for the reception but if you have a tent available and you like to stay away from the hustle and bustle of organized tours and all-inclusive packages, this could be the ideal solution for you. The park consists largely of karst hills covered with tropical jungle and is largely unexplored (and unfathomable). The area around the visitor center, as well as hosting camping and bungalows, is the starting point of trekking that allows you to explore the environment of the park. To get this far, however, you must have your own transportation or ask the driver of the bus It operates between Takua Pa and Surat Thani to drop you off at the visitor center. In the park, in addition to hundreds of animal species thrive, grow plants that have a blooming Rafflesia straordiaria: their flower 1m in diameter is the largest in the world!
