Following the course of the Indus River, on its long and magnificent journey through the Buddhist region of Ladakh it finally ends in Kargil, the first city of the restive Muslim Kashmir. After the Buddhist peace that permeates every corner of Ladakh, the bustle and chaos of this small town which is full of soldiers is a shock to the senses. However, it is worth taking a walk through the crowded streets full of implausible goods stores, if only for one to get used to India, Muslim India stuck militarised Pakistan. On the way from Leh, in Ladakh, to Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Kargil is inevitable.
