Karakol Valley
The Karakol Valley and the rest of the country of Kyrgyzstan is not well known by Western travelers. However, it is a place that is known by people with a bent for mountain trekking. The Karakol Valley is just a short half-hour drive from the strange town of Karakol. One can make a round trip on the same day or multi-day trek to reach the lake. Admission costs around 5 euros. The scenery is spectacular with its rich green and clear water rivers all surrounded by horses and local people. A spectacular place.
