Church of Panagia Kapnikarea

This tiny church, which looks more like a chapel from in any village in Greece, is almost eaten by tall, modern buildings in the center of Athens. It's an oasis of calm and tranquility between the vortex and the rush of the Greek capital, the unhurried wait, a visit is easy and you can enjoy the little hidden treasures. Currently it's undergoing a slow and careful process of restoration, especially the ceiling, which has had smoke, the heat of thousands of candles and the humidity of millions of breaths. So we just admire every corner of the small temple without taking pictures (it's forbidden)
