Las sandalias de Ulises
Very important pilgrimage destination
This population of just under 5,000 inhabitants is in southern Poland, near Wadowice, the hometown of Pope John Paul II. The city is named after the religious complex and founded by the governor of Krakow. It's a very important pilgrimage destination for Polish poeple. After the Second World War, the city's economic development was based largely on the expansion of its manufacturing of furniture and woodwork, as well as an increasing number of pilgrims visiting the religious complex.
