Mount of Olives Jewish Cemetery

Un grande cimitero ebraico occupa una fascia del Monte degli Ulivi , a Gerusalemme. Fin dai tempi più antichi le persone di religione ebrea han desiderato farsi seppellire proprio in questo luogo in Terrasanta perché secondo la Bibbia, la resurrezione dei morti inizerà proprio da questo luogo una volta tornato il Messia sulla Terra. Molti personaggi del passato, alcuni dei quali anche citati in salmi e versetti degli antichi testi sacri, riposano qui. Girando fra le numerose tombe che iniziano dalla Valle del Cedro, vi accorgerete di quanta gente è stata seppellita sul Monte Sacro degli Ulivi.
