Jesuit Ruins of San Ignacio Miní

The ruins of San Ignacio Mini, about 60 km from the capital, Posadas, is one of several examples of missionary remains, in southern Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Brazil. It was founded in the early seventeenth century to evangelize the native Guarani area. These ruins were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984.
