Jeanie Johnston Famine Ship

4 reviews of Jeanie Johnston Famine Ship

The best thing about our trip to Dublin

Excellent

Literally the best thing about our trip to Dublin. It's not just that it's cool to go on a real working replica tall ship. (Perhaps some may actually be quite critical and dissatisfied that the ship is not in pristine condition or that perhaps there isn't a huge variety to see below decks. If you were just let in on your own for a bit - yes.).

But what absolutely makes this attraction is the staff. For an hour they skillfully take you on a journey back in time and you really begin to feel and understand just what the Irish famine-driven immigrants experienced on the "coffin ships" on their way to America...

The ship is a bit out of the way and I'm not sure how many people know about it.

For an hour they skillfully take you on a journey back in time and you really begin to feel and understand just what the Irish famine-driven immigrants experienced on the "coffin ships" on their way to America... And Jeanie had a fascinating story in this chapter of history.

The ship is a bit out of the way and I'm not sure how many people know about it.

q a moment of history not conoca

The walk through the Custom House quay dock can be converted into a cultural walk through the museum ship Jeanie Johnston. The ship was the one that led to America thousands of Irish who fled Europe for the famine stalked the land, causing a major Irish settlement in nineteenth century America. Really an interesting approach and an original to a major story when I personally do not know much ... Entry 8 euros or so, open from 11am, watch the tour every hour!

The boat ro Liffey

It's a boat, which I have understood that it is a museum, but I'm not sure which is located right next to the Convention Centre Dublin, on the River Liffey, near the port of Dublin. There are tours in which you explain the history of the ship and is within the same, with a price if I remember correctly € 8.50 or so.

Embark with me on the Jeanie Johnston!...

Embark with me on the Jeanie Johnston! Finally on the line, a three-masted Irish boat, wood hull, identical replica of a sailing ship built in Quebec in 1847 used to take Irish immigrants to America during the famine in Ireland. His reply is currently working as a sailing school ... Someone needs to get his boating license??
