Chatuchak es el mercado de fin de semana de Bangkok (solo abre sábados y domingos) y está en el parque del mismo nombre, al norte de la ciudad, cerca de la Estación Norte de Autobuses. Con más de 15.000 puestos (me consta) y 35 Acres (unas de 14 hectáreas), presume de ser, no solo el más grande de Tailandia, sino uno de los mayores del mundo. Podemos llegar fácilmente en Skytrain, estación Mo Chi (primera o última de la línea verde claro) y en Metro, estaciónes Chatuchak Park o Kamphaeng Phet. Aunque también podremos hacerlo en bus, mototaxi, tuk-tuk, y taxi (los nombro por precio ascendente). En este impresionante mercado podemos encontrar todo lo imaginable: Decoración, arte y artesanía, antigüedades, menaje del hogar, equipamiento de viaje, ropa típica tailandesa, ropa actual (occidental), hippie y muchas imitaciones de marcas. Relojes, joyas, flores, restaurantes, ofrendas budistas, juguetes, instrumentos de música, telas, hierbas "magicas" (sanadoras)..... Y un sin fin de todo lo imaginable, habido y por haber. Y por supuesto puestecillos ambulantes, sobre todo de comida, fruta y helados. Y también músicos de estos "mendigo-expontáneos". La oferta es tan absolutamente abrumadora que, mezclada con el soporífero calor y la humedad, termina mareando. Yo al final no compré nada, porque no sabía qué comprar. Hay una especie de autobusillo abierto (pero cubierto)... No se cómo explicarlo, está en uno de los vídeos, que lo recorre entero, pero no se el precio. Muchos de los puestos tienen el cartelito del precio, y estos son más duros para el regateo. Pero muchos otros, los que no tienen precio, son la delicia de los regateadores natos. Se puede conseguir alrededor de un 30% menos del precio de salida (no más). Si Tailandia es "el paraíso de las compras" (que lo es), Chatuchak es la esencia de ese paraíso.

Recorrer el mercado es tan apasionante como desesperante, miles de pasillos abarratados de productos, de gente y de vendedores ambulantes. El regateo es imprescindible para conseguir un buen precio pero hay que disponer de tiempo y paciencia. La ropa hecha a mano es uno de los productos más vendidos, y los mercadillos de ropa asiática de medio mundo se nutren principalmente de Chatuchan.

Bienvenidos al paraíso de las compras!!!Si eres aficionado al regateo y quieres tener “de todo” dentro de un mismo mercado tu sitio es jatujak , al principio no me pareció tan grande ,la gente a veces es tan exagerada..Pero cuando me pase una hora andando en línea recta y no conseguia encontrar la salida empece a hacerme una idea de lo gigantesco q es, si quieres visitar lo máximo hazlo ordenadamente o a las 2 horas empezaras a pasar por los mismos sectores y quizás aun te quede mucho por ver,que no te pase como a mi que regateo y me voi haciéndome la dura y nunca mas encuentro el puesto con el vestido de mis sueños (buaaaa!) apunta mentalmente el numero de puesto y el sector y vuelve a pasar de “casualidad” jjaja…todos los precios son negociables todos y normalmente a bastante menos de su valor inicial ,si compramos mucho descuentazo por supuesto,a ellos les encanta regatear y a nosotros comprar tirado de precioo!!El sector que mas me interesa a mi es el de la ropa y del que mejor os puedo hablar,antes de venir a tailandia me preocupaba el hecho de q solo pudiera comprar copias de mas o menos calidad,pues no,en este mercado vas a encontrar infinidad de diseñadores independientes con un montón de estilo,se sientes alagadisimos cuando te interesas por tu ropa,puedes comprar cosas hechas ya o pedir que hagan tus propios diseños…aquí el limite lo pones tu!Los asiaticos saben de moda y son unos copiones si,pero también saben lo que copian, bueno como os habréis dado cuenta encantadisima con jatujak,aunque tomaros con tiempo un día de shoping aquí...Y llevaro una brújula para encontrar la salida!

Ce serait d'ailleurs le plus grand marché à ciel ouvert d'Asie... A bon entendeur... Nous, on a beaucoup aimé s'y balader au gré du vent, découvrir les stands les plus improbables (avec une mention spéciale pour les stands de nourriture et aussi ceux où l'on peut acheter des animaux vivants!!!). Immersion culturelle garantie (il n'y avait quasiment aucun touriste le jour de notre venue), dépaysement assuré !!

El mercado de chatuchak, es el mercado mas grande de Bangkok, hay muchas calles, mucha variedad de cosas, recuerdos, relojes, ropa de imitacion, muchas paraditas de comida ( pero con los olores que ay, no apetece ninguna ). Te puedes perder si te metes en pequeños callejones iguales . Como mínimo unas 5 horas. Se pasan rápido el tiempo, y es muy fácil llegar con el skytren.
