Seeing the Canadian Rockies by motorhome

Excellent

There are many ways to see these parks, but we chose to go in a camper for the freedom that you have to stop where you want, eat when you want, and sleep in the wilderness. I was actually pretty surprised by the campsites at Jasper National Park; they are really integrated into the landscape, with only a few amenities for ecological reasons. It serves to make your experience in nature a lot more, well, natural. When we visited, a couple of bears passed through our campsite only a few feet from the motorhome. You can rent motorhomes in Calgary to go see Jasper, Yoho and Banff, but you can also like

Us, rent in Seattle to see the city and Vancouver we well.

Bear spotting in Jasper National Park

Excellent

A lot of visitors probably associate the Canadian Rockies with Banff National Park, but really Jasper, its northern neighbor, is one of the most scenic and pristine parts of Alberta. The fact that Jasper National Park is farther from Calgary than Banff no doubt helps since the number of visitors is lower. Also, the park is immense and it's common to not see another soul for hours. You can, however, see elk, moose, and bears.

The only town in the park is Jasper but it's quite small. About 20 miles away, you can see Mt. Edith Cavell and the hanging Angel Glacier and the impressive Lake Maligne, one of the most amazing lakes I saw in the Canadian Rockies. One final note: Japser National Park has one of the highest concentrations of grizzly and black bears in Canada, so spotting these massive creatures is relatively common.

Indescribable

We had our honeymoon in Canada and had the good fortune to visit the Rockies in Albert. We visited Banff, Jasper, the Calgary Stampede, Edmonton, Johnston Canyon, Athabaska Falls, Lake Louise. It all left us speechless.

One of the most beautiful places on the planet earth

Excellent
