important ARCHAEOLOGICAL AREA
The Teotihuacan Valley is 45 km. northwest MEXICO CITY Federal District. Among the many buildings in this very important ARCHAEOLOGICAL AREA, PALACE OF THE JAGUARS stands out, which is believed to have been inhabited by priests or important leaders. This palace occupies a fairly large space and the name is derived from the JAGUARS WALL PAINTINGS that adorned its walls. The figures of these animals, their bodies and tails, rows of seashells, presumed, alluding to water. There are are paintings of snails and starfish. All the palace courtyards had DRAINS, which drained out of different venues.
