A nighttime tour
Jack the Ripper first appeared in 1888 in the neighborhoods near East London ( the areas of Spitalfields and Whitechapel). Tours are available at night (to add an air of mystery to the experience) that I recommend to learn a little bit more about this bloody episode in the history of London. It allows for you to understand what life was like in the Victorian era. These areas are currently populated by people from Bangladesh, while in the nineteenth century these areas were home to Jews from Eastern Europe who were attracted by the low costs of rent. The tour starts with the back of the Whitechapel subway station on Durward Street, which is next to a large red brick building that was once a boarding school for children.
