A different way to explore
If you are in Gipuzkoa and are tired of conventional tourist cities, I propose a different way to explore this part of Euskadi. In the municipality of Aia, inside the Nature Pangoeta, is Iturraran Botanical Garden. It contains all kinds of native vegetation (oak, chestnut, ash and alder) as well as artificial vegetation (American oak) and its rich collection includes worldwide species. Next to the village of Iturraran, which has an interpretation center, native Basque plants that are under threat have been established in order to preserve them. To visit the park there are many paths, with different levels of difficulty, that have wonderful scenery.
A cross between an unspoiled paradise and the setting for a story about witches. All species are labeled for easy identification with their name and the region/regions from which they come. From others I understood that it is possible to have park tours. It's a great place to enjoy with the family.
