Utö is a small island in the archipelago east of Stockholm. It is a couple of hours by boat from Stockholm, which makes it a perfect place to pass the day. it is famous for its nature and has the oldest mine in Sweden. It also has a windmill that is more than 200 years old. It is an island made for enjoying nature and marvelous views.

Utö es una de las islas del archipiélago de Estocolmo situadas más al sur. Famosa por su naturaleza y sus playas, esta isla también alberga la mina de hierro más antigua de Suecia (1607). A la isla se llega tras un par de horas en ferry. Una vez allí puedes dejarte llevar y explorar los diferentes caminos a través del bosque. Alrededor de la isla se encuentran algunas playas y bahías de fácil acceso, pero en su mayor parte son formaciones rocosas, típicas del archipiélago. Sin embargo, no os dejeis acobardar por las rocas, con un poco de esfuerzo, se consigue llegar hasta losmejores puntos para disfrutar de las magnificas vistas y poder ver el mar en toda su extensión, algo nada fácil en el archipiélago, donde quieras o no, siempre hay alguna isla por en medio... Aunque las islas del archipiélago son destino principal durante los meses de verano, también en invierno tienen su encanto, y el navegar por aguas prácticamente cubiertas de hielo en su totalidad es algo que merece la pena! Eso sí, si se va en invierno a Utö lo mejor es llevarse alguna bebida caliente y comida para pasar el día, y asegurarse de no perder el ferry de vuelta! No es fácil encontrar algo abierto allí, al menos en domingo...
