The Great Ishikiri Buddha
Ishikiri Daibutsu-ji literally means "Temple of the Great Ishikiri Buddha." Ishikiri is a neighborhood of the Higashi-Osaka region in east of the province, next to the neighboring Nara Prefecture. This neighborhood seems very superstitious, as it has an important shintosta temple (the Ishikiri Jin ja), a street full of Uranai (soothsayers, oracles, etc.) and several mysterious temples hidden in its streets. I discovered the latter by chance one night while walking toward Mount Ikoma to take some pictures. Spotting this hidden gem was a really pleasant surprise.
