Invergarry Castle was the base of the Chiefs of Clan MacDonnell of Glengarry, a powerful branch of Clan Donald. The location of the castle on the shore of Loch Oich on Creagan an Fhithich - Raven's Rock - on the Great Glen, was strategic, for times of war. Glengarry Castle Hotel is a very nice hotel located near to this ancient castle.
