30 military aircraft

On the flight deck you will find more than a dozen planes and helicopters from different eras, including some really interesting planes like the A-12 Blackbird spy plane , the F-14 Tomcat and the AV-8A Harrier. Among the 30 military aircraft, you'll find both World War II models and more recently used CIA planes. I first visited in 2004, and when I returned in 2010, the collection had expanded quite a bit, as you can see in my photos.

Intrepid Sea-Air Museum

We visited the Intrepid Sea-Air Museum, dedicated to the history of air, sea and space, and located inside the legendary aircraft carrier Intrepid, which served in WWII and Vietnam. It's 275 meters in length and weighs 37,000 tons. Located on Pier 86 on the West Side of Manhattan. You can visit the air-craft carrier, watch an explanatory video, and visit the deck where there are over 15 different types of planes and helicopters. You can also get on a model of the British Airways Concorde plane.

The main attraction

The Intrepid, the WW2 US navy ship, is the main attraction of the museum that bears its name. It is located on the waterfront of Manhattan's west side and was opened in 1982. As well as the the 1943-built warship, there are areas for sea, air, space, and earth. Along the way you can buy a ticket that also includes a comprehensive film and a visit to the submarine Growler.

Space travel and aviation

If you love everything related to space travel, marine travel or aviation, then this museum is for you. Under an amazing an ancient plane, which served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars, you can see a huge number of aircraft including the legendary Concord which used to travel across the Atlantic in less than 3 hours.

Fascinating

The Intrepid Sea, Air, Space Museums is a museum in New York City (USA). It is located on Pier 86, on the West Site of the Manhattan.
