Small and authentic
Small and authentic, this restaurant will often pass unnoticed in a street surrounded by other restaurants. It was opened by Hungarian refugees in 1957, and little has changed in terms of the furniture: there are wall panels to heat the room, rustic tables and chairs, blackboards, paintings and hanging plates. The service is friendly and there is a nice atmosphere despite the quick turnover. Arrive early or book. I recommend the goulash, hot chocolate strudel, and the beer. Average price (in comparison with the cost of the Austrian capital). You'll be charged for bread and water.
