Illinois Labor History Society

The Illinois Labor History Society Museum is located in Chicago. After the Civil War, the availability of natural resources, new inventions, and a receptive market combined to fuel an industrial boom. The demand for labor grew, and in the evening many children in the 19th and early 20th century were drawn into the labor force. The problems of child labor are addressed through the photographs of Lewis Hine.
