The Illinois Humanities Council was created as an educational organization focused on fostering a culture in which the humanities are highlighted, as the center of man and society. The site organizes activities throughout the state, including seminars, conferences, shows, exhibitions, films, and written materials on history, literature, philosophy, folklore, and historical preservation.
