Igreja Matriz

A Igreja Matriz (Igreja Matriz de São Cristóvão de Mondim) é um templo antigo embora este não tenha sido o primeiro templo construído neste lugar. O que existe hoje é o resultado de uma profunda remodelação do antigo e primitivo templo. Essa remodelação aconteceu entre os séculos XVIII e XIX e do antigo templo apenas sobrou o portal lateral norte, com arco em ogiva (ou arco quebrado). Normalmente a igreja está fechada, abrindo apenas nas horas das missas. Só aí poderá ser visitada pelo interior, infelizmente. Está localizada à entrada de Mondim, chegando pela estrada N304, fora do centro histórico. Junto a esta igreja pode também ver a Casa e Jardim da Igreja, um solar português que terá sido construído o espaço do antigo passal da igreja. Mais ou menos em frente, tem o Parque Urbano Municipal.

The Mother Church (Mother Church of Saint Kitts Mondim) is an ancient temple although this has not been the first temple built in this place. What exists today is the result of a thorough renovation of the old and primitive temple. This remodeling took place between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and the ancient temple just left the north side portal with pointed arch (or broken arc). Normally the church is closed, opening only in times of Masses. Only there can be visited the interior, unfortunately. It is located at the entrance of Mondim, reaching the road N304, outside the historic center. Next to this church can also see the House and Church Garden, a Portuguese solar that have been built the space of the old Passal church. More or less opposite, is Parque Municipal Urban.
