Church of Mercy
This church is in the Largo da Misericordia, in front of theTribunal da Relação de Guimarães (court of appeals) and was built in the sixteenth century by architects Gonçalo Lopes and João Lopes de Amorim in the Renaissance style. The highlights of the facade are the columns that frame the doorway, topped by pinnacles. Attached to the church is the House of Mercy, a small church with a single nave, a rectangular plan, a monumental eighteenth century altarpiece that consists of a polychrome wooden sculpture that appears to be marble and an organ. Hours are Monday-Friday 9-11.30 and-14-18.00, Saturday
