Igor Mitoraj's Sculptures

Estas estupendas esculturas fueron expuestas en la céntrica y emblemática calle del Príncipe hace unos años, concretamente en el año 2006 y como no podía ser de otra manera me llamaron la atención, no solo a mi, sino a todo viandante que paseaba por la céntrica calle. Estas esculturas realizadas en bronce eran gigantescas y el titulo de la exposición era "Arte en la calle" su autor el polaco Igor Mitoraj que estudió en la Escuela de Arte de Cracovia, tras algunas exposiciones colectivas (expuso en la calle también en Sevilla) también continuó estudios en la Escuela Nacional de Arte en París. Su estilo parte de la tradición clásica pero introduce un toque postmoderno al truncar deliberadamente las extremidades, lo que en las obras clásicas es el resultado de las vicisitudes propias del paso del tiempo. Algunas de sus obras son: Tindaro aplastado de 1998, Eros atado de 1999, Piernas aladas (2002), Cabeza dormida, etc, todas ellas hechas en bronce.
