1 review of Igls

Tiror in a pure state

Excellent

Despite its proximity to Innsbruck, the capital of the Austrian Tyrol, helps you get away from the city and closer to the more typical Tirol. It is full of typical Tyrolean mansions, dating back to the early 20th century, charming hotels and spots and colourful walks in the Alps. It's easy to find people in tradition costumes. In Igls is the "Patschekofel" which is the largest cable car in the area and which rises to 2000 meters from where you can see magnificent views of the Inn Valley and Innsbruck itself. "Panorama" restaurant has great views on the terrace and is near the cable car station.

There is also an office in Igls that will recommend a nice walk past different villas. A breathtaking journey into the heart of Tirol that begins and ends in Innsbruck. The area is full of typical alpine cows with bells around their necks. It is the ideal for snow sports in winter (they have held two Winter Olympics. The last was in 2012).
