San Fillan y San Alfonso church
This is the only Roman Catholic Church in Doune. The building that stands before us is perhaps from the early Victorian period, but the historical records show the existence of an earlier church much older than the existing one. We do not know the year but we know that is relatively close in time to the castle, which provides us with approximate dates from the fourteenth and fifteenth century. What came first, the chicken or the egg? In this case, the chicken, since the construction of the castle led to the village. The castle church or chapel was reserved for those who resided there and ruled.
