Ica
Ica is a city located in the south of central Peru, on the banks of the river with the same name. The city in itself is not a tourist destination in itself but many travelers stop for several reasons, the most important being that some of the most spectacular places in Peru are situated near the city, for instance the Nazca Lines and the desert oasis of Huacachina. It is also visited due to the fact that it lies almost halfway between Lima and Arequipa. Ica has a certain charm to it as it provides a perfect example of what life in Peru is like - Peruvian customs are still kept in tact. Ica could be defined as chaotic, since the center is made up of several very long streets full of traffic and sidewalks which are difficult to traverse.
