Huechulafquen Lake

Excellent

After crossing the bridge over the River Chimehuín the Huechulafquen Lake appears. In the Mapuche language Mapudungun means "lake of the art". The amazing deep blue-green that we saw from far became even more splendid as we got to the beach and saw it reflecting in the sun. From there, we began our walk in Lanin National Park. At the park there is a Visitors Center that helps to guide the tourists. The park features everything that makes natural spaces wonderful, the incredible color of its diverse vegetation cut on the slopes of the volcano Lanin hue contrasting with the intense water, wildlife, trails interpretation forests high in the you hear the chirping of the birds that can't be seen, its camping areas, etc..

In the port of Puerto Canoa can take the boats making the journey through the different glacial lakes and was this lake that accompanied us throughout our tour of the park. We had done a few miles when we found Chimehuin River mouth, which I mentioned in another corner, a river that runs through the town of Junin de Los Andes carrying the waters of this lake to pour into the Atlantic Ocean.
