Good hotel in downtown Paris
This hotel is on Rue Lafayette and straddles three very different Paris neighborhoods. On one side, you have the Ópera area where you can shop at the Galeries Lafayette. On the other side, you have Rue des Martyrs and its concentration of small, independent shops. Finally, you have the Grands Boulevards area where you’ll find theatres, cinemas, and some of the most beautiful covered galleries in the city.
It’s close to the lines 7 and 12 of the metro. Although the hotel is on Rue Lafayette, don’t fret because the rooms are perfectly sound-proofed. The wi-fi works well (but avoid the expensive computer in the reception) and the elevators, while a bit old, are still in fine working order. The cleanliness was fine and the staff was attentive.
The breakfast is a bit odd so, if you can, try to have breakfast at one of the nearby cafes.
The hotel is on the rue Lafayette, near 3 very different neighborhoods of Paris. For one, the Opera area where you can go shopping at Galeries Lafayette. On the other side is Rue des Martyrs with small independent shops, and finally Grands Boulevards, with cinemas, passages and most beautiful covered galleries of the city. It's a great location and very close to Le Peletier metro stop (line 7) and Notre Dame de Loreto (line 12) in the Quartier de Opèra. Although the hotel is on Lafayette Street don't panic because rooms are perfectly soundproof, the wifi was fine (the receiving computer is expensive, avoid), the lift was old but fine and the cleaning staff were proper and very attentive. Breakfast was very expensive so if you can go to a local cafe it's more economical.
