Hospedería Conventual Sierra de Gata hotel

This is, without a doubt, the flagship of the Hospedería network in Extremadura. It’s located in San Martín de Trevejo, a town in the Sierra de Gata to the northeast of Cáceres. The Hospedería Conventual Sierra de Gata is a fantastic 4-star hotel located in an old Franciscan convent dating back to the 15th century.

The Hospedería is located in a truly privileged environment in the foothills of the Sierra de Gata. There are many small villages nearby for those interested in rural tourism as well as the region’s famous natural baths. Also, the locals are truly endearing.

The building has undergone extensive renovation and now has modern furnishings which still respect the spirit of the original convent. We particularly liked the superior rooms; they’re huge and have incredible views of the mountains and are very, very comfortable. The Hospedería also has a nice spa where you can see the original walls of the 15th century convent on which this Hospedería was built.

This is an ideal place to rest. It’s right in the heat of the Sierra de Gata and has amazing views of the village of San Martín de Trevejo. My favorite part was the peacefulness and rural atmosphere. Highly recommended.
