The Cistercian Route, vineyards, and Templars
Les Pobles is a good starting point for visiting the Royal Monastery of Santes Creus whose royal pantheon is a gem of Cistercian architecture. You also have the ruins of Celma, an old Templar outpost, and the vinyards of Masos nearby.
In autumn, the colors of the countryside really come alive and give off a special charm. The whole place takes on a spectacular golden-reddish color. It’s a perfect place if you’re looking for something that’s both easily-reachable and totally peaceful.
The rooms at the Hostatgeria de Celma are named after the Templars who cultivated the local lands, an area that I especially adore.
