Fraggle Explorador
A tasty treat year-round
I was attracted to this place due to its great reputation in the area, a reputation which I must admit is well-deserved. The building was built in 1515 on the royal road linking Tarragona and Barcelona. Its name pays homage to the wagon carts which stopped at this hostel during their trip from Barcelona to Valencia.
I only visited the restaurant, but I imagine that the rooms probably have a similarly high level of attention to detail and service as the dining room. The restaurant offers different menus using only seasonal ingredients, but my favorites were the “calçotada” (grilled green onions and romesco dipping sauce), the wild boar stew, the venison, or the Fricandó with wild mushrooms. Truth is, it was all delicious!
The price was also very good, especially if you take the high-quality food and service into account.
