Wonderful Hosts and a Palacial Riad
This was the favorite place we stayed in all of Morocco, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in Marrakech. The sensation of winding your way through dark, narrow alleyways to finally end up at Belbaraka's red door and entering into what can only be described as a palace is wonderful! Charlotte, the owner, spoke excellent English and helped us with everything from transfers from the bus station (the riad is impossible to find on your own), places to eat, things to visit, and even had our breakfast made early before we left to catch our flight.
The riad itself revolves around a peaceful interior courtyard with tables for having a mint tea and a gently burbling fountain scented with rose petals. The rooms are spacious and decorated in an elegant Moorish style, with windows looking out into the courtyard, large draping curtains, carpets, and comfy beds (a rarity in Marrakech). The bathroom was simply incredible.
