A religious experience
All I can say is that this place is 100% recommendable. It’s a place to relax in every sense of the word, especially if you go as a couple. The Hospedería is decorated with a lot of details and respects the original structure. Although we went in September, the weather was great and we were able to do lots of day-trips.
This is a place where the Iberian pig is a prized raw material. In the Hospedería de la Parra (which is also the name of the town), the cuisine is incredible and the people are charming. There’s never a mean look or a curt gesture. Since the place is an old converted convent, the people recognize that the ambiance should reign supreme.
If you stay there, make sure to try the chaise lounges that look out over the courtyard why you enjoy a good book and a cold drink. The pool is also enjoyable and we really liked how quiet it was.
The rooms are very unique; they’re Spartan (it’s a convent after all) but done up with good taste. The breakfast and lunch menu in the restaurant features regional dishes.
I’d suggest visiting Olivenza and the restaurant there, Dosca. The ham and cured meats are amazing! Or, visit the Castle of Feria, the Tower of Homenaje, Burguillos del Cerro, and the church. We left with a wonderful impression of the area and we were well taken care of in La Parra.
