Pompeii's Storehouse
Greetings travellers! One of the points of interest within the ancient city of Pompeii is the Horreum, or more commonly, the Granaries Forum. It's located on the side of the Forum. Today it's used to display ancient archaeological artifacts, but in ancient times it was used to preserve food. There are many versions about the products that were preserved here. Supposedly it was a storehouse for items like cereals, olives, and fruits, as well as all kinds of perishable products. Due to the Roman influence in Spain, you can find some of these types of buildings, now cultural heritage sites, in places like northern Galicia, Cantabria, Asturias, etc.
