He pasado muchas veces por esta carretera , pero ayer fue la primera vez que vi esta estatua . A 27 Km de León y a 2 km de Carrocera , se encuentra la Venta de Cantarranas , lugar en el que se sabia que existía una fosa común de los tiempos de la Guerra Civil . Con el revuelo social de la memoria histórica , excavaron y , efectivamente , encontraron restos de todos los que fueron arrojados aquí . Han conseguido identificar los restos de 59 hombres , todos ellos de la provincia de León , que son los que aparecen en el panel expuesto al lado de la escultura . Resulta emotivo y te pone los pelos punta , ver esta especie de cementerio en el que una gran escultura hecha en hierro y mármol negro de grandes dimensiones , representa a un hombre , de espaldas , con las manos atadas atrás , apoyando la cabeza contra un poste y a su alrededor , haciendo circulo , unos petriles de hierro con el nombre de los cuerpos identificados y flores , a modo de lapidas . Lo que es triste y vergonzoso , es que , para el tiempo lleva esta escultura expuesta , ya hayan tenido tiempo de burlarse de lo que representa , pintandola con colores vistosos para mofarse de ella .
