Historic Centre of Viveiro

Viveiro Township is made up of of 3 centers: Viveiro , Covas , and Celeiro . The historic center of Vivero has been declared a Historical Site, and is surrounded by ancient medieval walls that still remain three gates: Gate of Charles V, Porta Porta da Vila and do Valado. In center of the town is located in the Plaza Mayor, where are the Town Hall and the Old Town Hall. From here depart a series of narrow streets and pedestrian characterized by buildings with galleries and medieval houses with shields and crests. Some of the most typical streets are:-La Rua Pastor Diaz, one of the busiest for being full of bars, restaurants and shops (the owners have formed an association of merchants of Old Town).
