Altitude sickness in Potosi
Potosi spans the Eastern Cordillera of the Andes, at an altitude of 4000 meters, and is, along with the city of Lhasa in Tibet, the highest city in the world. The main square is 4067 meters. I do not suffer from altitude sickness, but the day I arrived in Potosi the sky was filled and threatening rain. I walked the best I could, with the feeling that I could not breathe, and my head was starting to give me warning signs.
