Coro is the capital of the stare of Falcon, and was founded with the original name of Santa Ana de Coro, in 1527 by Juan de Ampíes. It is one of the oldest cities in Venezuela. It is actualy quite well preserved, and was named a Unesco Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 1993, with its harbour, La Vela de Coro.
