Simply breathtaking
Not as famous as the legendary Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles, Highway One was the first major road linking north and south California (San Diego to San Francisco). This road, now rarely used by anyone but tourists, winds up and down along the Pacific Ocean, past hidden coves and stunning views. The ocean water looks like crystal, the flowers are intensely colorful, and the earth is sometimes ocher, sometimes red. The diversity of landscapes makes you feel like you're crossing Corsica, Scotland, Cornwall, Atlas and the Pyrenees. Simply breathtaking.
