A lovely landscape
This is commonly described in tourist brochures as the most beautiful waterfall in England. But once there, the truth is that I was more impressed by the landscape itself than by the waterfall. From Middleton-in-Teesdale, you can follow a well-signposted route to arrive here after 10 minutes of driving. You will find the parking area (we paid £ 2), and the store to buy your ticket for the waterfalls, which costs £ 1.50 for adults and 1 pound for children over 5.
The path to the falls is very beautiful, easy to follow, and can be navigated by prams. It takes about ten minutes to reach the rocky valley, and the sound of the rushing water will announce what you're about to see! Wooden safety railings protect you from getting too close to the waterfall, as there have been some accidents here in the past.
