Yes, it's true. HI Ottawa Jail Hostel, of the international network is a former jail. It is one of the most popular hostels in Canada. The rooms are the old cells. This gives it some charm, but some people may find it claustrophobic. It is well situated, just a short walk from Hotel Laurier and Parliament Hill. It also has guest kitchen, internet access and laundry room at guests´ disposal.
