Hermitage of the Holy Christ of Veracruz

Situada en la centrica plaza donde se encuentra la oficina de turismo y el [poi=361681]Centro de Interpretacion[/poi] de la [poi=361671]localidad[/poi] palentina , esta ermita , también conocida como el Cristo del Palacio , es una de las multiples muestras de arte religioso con el que cuenta Paredes . Esta construida en piedra y ladrillo y cuenta con una sola nave . Su puerta principal esta cubierta con un pórtico de artesonado apoyado sobre columnas . Como la mayoría de las iglesias que hay en Paredes , aquí también resalta su esbelta torre , de aspecto liso , pero que llama la atención sobre el conjunto de la ermita . En su interior , la parte mas cercana al altar esta separada del resto del templo por una gran verja de forja , lo que antes servia para separar la parte del culto de la de los visitantes . El retablo mayor es de estilo salomónico y en el se encuentra el Cristo al que esta advocada la ermita . Como peculiaridad , deciros que la imagen del Cristo cuenta con pelo natural postizo y tiene a sus pies una especie de huevo , con lo que se quiso representar el dominio que tenia sobre todo el mundo .
