Survey the German-Minnesotan town of New Ulm with Hermann the German
Known to locals as Hermann the German this statue depicts Hermann the Cheruscan, also known by the Latin name Arminius, and he looks out over the Minnesota River Valley and New Ulm. On the National Register of Historic Places he's a symbolic monument for the area's German population.
Hermann is always available for viewing, but if you want to climb the stairs to the top you have to plan accordingly- in inclement weather they close for safety reasons. Best time to visit for the view is in the Fall when the leaves along the valley are at their most vibrant!
Climb to the top of Hermann and look out over the valley of New Ulm for only $2.25 during normal working hours of 10 a.m.
