Heritage Square Museum

Victorian architecture is not widespread in Los Angeles, but there’s a place in Highland Park where visitors can indulge in Victorian-style homes that were built in the city in the late 1880's. Heritage Square Museum is an architectural museum that contains more than seven buildings. Through guided tours, visitors can explore each one of them. One of the houses belonged to John Jay Ford, who was related to the founder of Ford Motor Company. Docents reveal interesting facts about the houses, like how some cost $700 to build, while others cost $10,000. The museum not a touristy spot, but there’s so much history and beauty and color that it is worth visiting if you’re looking for something different and off the beaten path.
