Layers of Flavor in a basement setting
In order to get to the dining room at Hell's Kitchen in downtown Minneapolis you have to head downstairs- into the basements of the building. Fitting, considering the name of the place. The waiting room is decked out in various shades of red, such that you almost feel like you might be sitting in the waiting room for hell- except a lot more comfortably.
Breakfasts and brunches are the most popular meal at Hell's Kitchen so expect a wait- a very long wait if you have a larger party of people. The meals are exquisite though- purchase a cookbook from their store on their way out if you enjoyed the food as much as I do! Lemon, ricotta pancakes and bison sausages are divine and their iconic porridge: the Mahnomen Porridge- made with wild rice. You can't say you've eaten at Hell's Kitchen until you've eating the Mahnomen Porridge! And don't forget to try their uber-spicy (ok, just right on the spice) bloody mary!
