Huge park on the outskirts of London

Hampstead Heath is a huge park on the outskirts of London, 6 km north of the capital. Open all day, in fact it has no barriers or anything. Bikes can go on its paths but pedestrian rule and you have to go pretty slowly. It's one of people's favorite parks in London because it's so large that it never feels busy. To reach the park you have to take a bus in the direction of Hampstead Heath. Take the black tube line to Belsize Park or a commuter train to Hampstead Heath, but it's more complicated and time consuming. The park is on a hill overlooking the city, in the distance you can see to the center and the London Eye ferris wheel.

The city bought the park in the nineteenth century, it's more than 320 hectares and covers two districts of London, Camden and Barnet. It belongs to the municipality which has cared for it for over 10 years. There is enough forest, pine and very large, old trees, but also open spaces to play football or cricket.

800 acres of parkland, lakes and hills - Hamptead Heath is the perfect retreat for a Sunday morning walk with fresh air and spectacular views of London. If it's hot, there are places labeled: 'women', 'men' or 'mixed' for swimming and bathing outdoors. If it's cold it's an awakening of the senses. The surrounding village has ​very nice and classic homes. It's worth crossing it, getting lost in its cobblestone streets and observing this classic area of ​​London.

A nice winter visit

Hampstead Park is one of those places that is completely transformed by the passing of the seasons. In autumn, you'll see beautiful yellow leaves everywhere, while in winter the snow changes it entirely. It's a little more rugged than most other parks in the city, so if you visit it when there's snow on the ground, you'll barely be able to believe that you're still in London. It's really beautiful, and don't be scared if you see people diving into the freezing cold lake, as this is quite common there.
