Situado en el [B]barrio de Cayo Hueso[/B], en [I]Centro Habana[/I], es una pequeña calle de apenas 200 metros que, sin embargo, tiene una intensa actividad, tanto de cubanos como de turistas. El atractivo de este callejón radica en los coloridos murales que adornan todas sus paredes, obra del artista cubano [B]Salvador González[/B], y que representan como ninguno el sincretismo religioso y cultural de la isla. Los dibujos reproducen a distintos dioses y orishas, símbolos espirituales y animales, con poemas o leyendas escritas en ellos, sobre la vida, el amor, la dignidad, etc. Lo que empezó siendo una simple manifestación callejera de arte y cultura afrocubana se ha convertido hoy en un referente y una especie de santuario para todo aquel cubano que siente que sus raíces siguen vivas y no está dispuesto a renegar de ellas. En la calle hay música a todas horas, bien de los aparatos de radio o bien de músicos callejeros. Desde allí se organizan muchas[I] matinés[/I], que son como pequeños conciertos donde se canta, se baila y se bebe generalmente al mediodía o recién entrada la tarde. Única pega del [B]Callejón[/B]: El cubano, ingenioso de nacimiento y pobre de estado civil, ve en los turistas que visitan este lugar una manera más de conseguir dinero fácil. Hay que tener los ojos bien abiertos y no dejarse embaucar por las decenas de proposiciones que te harán mientras recorres el lugar. A pesar de eso, merece la pena una visita, para saborear en toda su magnitud el espíritu cubano.

O lugar foi idealizado por um artista cubano (Salvador González), que começou desenhar as paredes deste beco com pinturas e poemas, no começo da década dos 1990. Hoje, todo lugar está desenhado (orelhões, paredes, portas...nada se salva!) criando uma galeria de arte urbano ao ar livre muito interessante.

Tomar ron en pleno calor caribeño a las 2 del mediodía, redeada de gente, sudor, colres de piel, coleres en la pared, hay un escrito que acaba volviendose borroso: "cualquiera se come un ñame..."
