The local fellowship paid for the construction of the first tower and its maintenance, but this was destroyed by the 1755 earthquake and a new building was built in 1761. It has a steady white light and a 13 miles range on a 240 ° sector, location - Cascais [38 º 41 '44.17'' N, 9 ° 26' 47.43'' W].
