Guataqui

Guataquí es un municipio que se encuentra en el departamento de Cundinamarca, en la zona central de Colombia. Era uno de los lugares por donde los indios que habitaban la zona cruzaban el río Magdalena. En la lengua chibcha, "Guataquí" significa "labranza del cerro largo". Son conocidas sus artesanías como hamacas y atarrayas (redes para pescar). Para disfrutar de una bella panorámica, hay que ir al mirador que hay en el Cerro de las Tres Cruces. También se puede visitar el oasis de agua azufrada en la Vereda Macanda o la piscina municipal para darse un chapuzón y refrescarse. Si le interesa los fósiles de animales invertebrados o vertebrados y vestigios de culturas pasadas, puede visitar el Museo Paleontológico y Arqueológico. Cerca de Guataquí se realizan muchas actividades de moto cross. Los guataquiseños celebran una peregrinación anual, el último sábado de enero, con la imagen de Santo Domingo de Guzmán que es el patrono de Guataquí. Y en agosto se celebran varias fiestas y ferias.
