Guanaja

Guanaja is one of the three Bay Islands comprising Honduras in the Caribbean. Colon is known as the Isle of Pines. It is located approximately 70 kilometers north of the coast of Honduras and 12 kilometers from the island of Roatan. One of the Keys is also called Guanaja or Bonnaca, or simply El Cayo. Local people live in El Cayo and all of the beaches on the island are practically deserted. Several famous artists have bought land there. It is difficult to reach by plane and there is no direct ferry from Roatan or La Ceiba, therefore it has been largely untouched by tourism.
